The Bishop’s Society was founded in 1993 to recognize and thank anyone who includes the church or any Episcopal ministry in their estate plans, and to promote the ministry of planned giving. A dinner with Bishop Warner for society members is annually held at St. Mark’s Cathedral.

The Board of Directors of the Diocese of Olympia, Inc. has legal and fiduciary responsibility for the assets of the diocese, including land, buildings, endowments and other funds, and the investment of those funds. It is the board’s responsibility to manage these assets in such a way as to further God’s work in the diocese, both for today and for the future.

budget and finance committee

The Budget and Finance Committee is charged with presenting to Diocesan Council a balanced proposed budget to be approved by convention delegates. The committee reviews the proposed budget which includes 1) updated income projections for the coming year, 2) the requested amounts for the coming year's funding that were received from the commissions, programs and ministry areas of the diocese, and 3) the previous year's budget that was approved by convention. Members determine areas of income and expenses requiring review and prepare recommendations to assist Diocesan Council in passing a balanced budget in a way that best reflects the values of the diocese.
