architecture The Commission on Church Architecture is a volunteer group of construction professionals working with clergy and the diocesan Treasurer that provides free advice and consultation for congregations and institutions involved with building and construction projects. With the diocese being the official owner of a mission’s project, the commission, and then the Board of Directors, must grant approval to commence with any project. Parishes, however, are legally responsible for their own projects. Therefore, diocesan canons require parishes to present all projects to the commission for review. In any case, its main objective is to protect the interests of congregations as well as those of the diocese. Mark Anderson |
